This is the box, Ed. Inside is everything.
Two bottle caps, a movie ticket from Greta in the Wild, a note from you, a box of matches, your protractor, Joan’s book, the stolen sugar, a toy truck, those ugly earrings, a comb from the motel, and the rest of it. This is it, Ed. The whole story of why we broke up.
This book is really pretty. It contains illustrations of each item mentioned above. Illustrations are gorgeous! Each item in the box has a story and a reason why they broke up.
This follows the story of Min & Ed; pretty much the story of why they broke up. I look at the character of Min as someone who is very sentimental (imagine she kept these things because of the memories she remembers when seeing them!). This book is like a compilation of the things she wants to say to Ed.
Ed, on the other hand… I don’t know much about him, since this story is on the POV of Min… but I really don’t know why I believed him when he said that he loves Min. There is a part of me who wants to believe that he really loves her. And there is this part of me that understands what he did… Maybe it is just because I believe that most men are polygamous.. 🙂
I don’t know… From the beginning I just don’t feel that they match — there is really no connection between Min and Ed… (maybe that’s why they broke up!)
I like how the story was written – It started from small reasons on why they broke up then leads to the biggest reason. If you want to have a simple read, without much of that thinking, wondering, assuming, questioning, etc; this book is for you.
2 stars for the story and an extra star for the illustrations!! 😉 — I really think the cover and illustrations are pretty.
There is a difference between giving up and knowing when you have had enough.
