Where She Went

where-she-wentIt’s been three years since the devastating accident… three years since Mia walked out of Adam’s life forever.

Now living on opposite coasts, Mia us a rising star at Julliard and Adam is a bona fide rock star, complete with tabloid headlines and a celebrity girlfriend.

Then chance brings them together again, for one night. As they explore the city that has become Mia’s home, Adam and Mia revisit the past and open their hearts to the future and to each other.

After that cliffhanger in IF I STAY… this conclusion to this duology is beautifully written. I like it even more because the story was on the point of view of ADAM (whom I really really love!). After three and a half years, ADAM and MIA met again. Questions were answered, as to why Mia left and never came back; what happened with each of them after Mia left three years ago…

Gayle Forman’s writing is interesting and exceptional. She genuinely writes about topics such as grief, loss, love, acceptance and letting go. She intersperse the present with flashbacks that fill in the gaps of the years since Mia’s tragic accident.

The confusion, the hate, the heartbreak of Adam was really felt.

But again… I really think there is something wrong with Mia… What if ADAM was not in her concert? Will she ever reach out and explain why she left? I feel really sorry for Adam…

Basically, I really think this is better than If I Stay. The first book was really heavy and tragic and was confusing at times… but this story… this story is more real…

“A day might be just twenty-four hours but sometimes getting through just one seems as impossible as scaling Everest.”
